The first sovereign BaaS built for Africa

Kuunda Cloud is a Backend-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform that lets African developers, fintechs, companies and governments build, launch and scale applications without running backend infrastructure themselves.

Like Firebase, Supabase, Neon and other global BaaS platforms — designed for African realities.

Africa deserves its own cloud infrastructure

Today, most African applications depend on infrastructure in Europe, the United States, or under foreign jurisdiction.

The result:

  • Slower applications for African users
  • Critical dependence on foreign vendors
  • Regulatory complexity
  • High DevOps costs
  • Weak digital sovereignty

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The essentials on hosting, the stack, pricing and support, so you can decide with a clear picture.

What is Kuunda Cloud?

Kuunda Cloud is a sovereign Backend-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform. It lets African developers, fintechs, companies and public institutions build, launch and scale applications without operating backend infrastructure themselves.

Where is data hosted?

Data is hosted in Côte d’Ivoire, on infrastructure designed for African data residency and digital sovereignty. Each project has an isolated PostgreSQL schema so environments stay separated.

How is Kuunda Cloud different from Firebase, Supabase or Neon?

Kuunda Cloud provides PostgreSQL, REST API, authentication, object storage, realtime and Edge Functions, with data hosted in Côte d’Ivoire. The import assistant reads a Postgres dump (Supabase, Neon, vanilla Postgres); Firestore is not imported automatically.

Which backend services are included?

The platform includes managed PostgreSQL per project, a generated REST API, authentication (JWT sessions and RLS policies), S3-compatible object storage, realtime sync and Edge Functions. Everything is administered from the Kuunda console.

How do the trial and pricing work?

The trial (1 project) applies to self-serve plans, with a Visa or Mastercard then automatic billing. Prices, capacities (Compute Units, projects, storage) and trial length are those in the pricing table above — they may change without updating this FAQ. Subscription length is your choice (1 to 24 months), with 10% off from 12 months. Enterprise premium remains quote-based.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Self-serve plans are paid by Visa or Mastercard, with automatic billing at the end of the trial. If payment fails, the organisation is locked, then data is deleted after 7 days. Enterprise premium is quoted and handled commercially.

Who is the platform for?

Kuunda Cloud is for startups, fintechs, agencies, companies and public institutions building applications (SaaS, healthcare, education, government services or AI infrastructure) that want a modern backend hosted in Africa.

Do you offer an SLA and dedicated support?

The public cloud offering (including self-serve Enterprise) does not include a financial SLA by default; support follows the published policy. A written service-level agreement and priority support are available on Enterprise premium only, with a separate contract.

How do I start a project?

Create an account in the console, start your trial, then provision your project. Technical docs, the status page and the console (API keys, SQL, observability) support your team throughout deployment.

How can I contact the team?

For technical support, write to support@kuunda-cloud.com. For an Enterprise premium quote, contact hello@kuunda-cloud.com. Documentation and the status page remain the first stop for operational questions.
